Seeking Information

There are a lot of questions that people have and without any information they are tending to get upset. I think that providing as much information as possible will go a LONG way to supporting people to get through this outage with good will and good cheer.

Here are some areas where information is needed:

- Why can the passenger boat only take 20 people?

- Do you have any plans for adding an additional boat or a larger boat?

-Why does it have to land on the East side of the dock on Guemes rather than at the boat
ramp which is far more accessible for people with mobility impairments?

- Can anything be done to remove the logs that people have to crawl over on the Guemes Beach in order to get up to the road?

I hope that you understand that I understand these may not be factors that you can change. If you can change them great! If not, then providing information about them will help people to understand and work with you rather than foster ill will.

I recommend that this information be posted to LineTime, provided to Win at the store, posted at the terminals and as a courtesy emailed to the members of the Ferry Committee since we are fielding phone calls and would like to provide info locally whenever possible.

The Strait Arrow is certified for 49 passengers and the Island Express is certified for 42.

We have the Strait Arrow operating with the Island Express as a back-up.

The Strait Arrow lands at the dock and the Island Express lands on the beach as a back-up.

If we use the Island Express again, we will have the beach cleared.
